Rowan-Cabarrus Community College presents Keith Wayne Cook Scholarship to automotive student, Ashley Goodrich
ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) – The Rowan-Cabarrus Neighborhood College or university Foundation has awarded the initial Keith Wayne Prepare dinner Automotive Scholarship to Ashley Goodrich of Spencer. The scholarship honors Keith Wayne Cook dinner, a former Rowan-Cabarrus scholar with a lifelong appreciate of automotive mechanics.
Prepare dinner, a native of Harmony, possessed a uncommon and excellent reward for mechanics. From tinkering on his tricycle at age 3, to his shop courses at Northwest Cabarrus Large School and a continued hobby of car repair, he was a lifelong lover of mechanics. He owned and operated Highest Performance and Keith’s Dyno-Tune in Concord ahead of relocating on to a profession of 23 several years at Freightliner Company in Cleveland as a Output Staff Leader and High quality Command Inspector. Cook studied industrial administration at Rowan-Cabarrus Group Higher education.
The Keith Wayne Prepare dinner Automotive Scholarship was established by his sister, the Rev. Dr. Cathy A. Cook, a previous communications instructor and office chair at Rowan-Cabarrus.
“My very little brother beloved absolutely nothing additional than functioning on autos,” Cook reported. “This scholarship will empower other folks to pursue their goals in the area of car mechanics – a great way to honor Keith’s everyday living and the great big difference he designed to everyone he knew.”
Goodrich is pursuing an Associate in Applied Science diploma in Automotive Methods Engineering. She enjoys doing work on cars and trucks in her leisure time, and she and her spouse would like to open their possess automobile mechanics business enterprise after she graduates.
“Being decided on for the scholarship has built me want to perform even more difficult,” Goodrich explained. “It feels excellent that an individual is cheering me on and is inclined to donate their revenue to help make my everyday living simpler so that I can emphasis on my research.”
The Rowan-Cabarrus Basis, set up in 1991, raises and manages cash for yearly and endowed scholarships to help pupils, as very well as maximizing interactions that aid the College’s total mission.
